Electric Dynamometer Generator The Electric Dynamometer Generator uses a braking d.c. generator to absorb the power output of an engine and converts it into electrical energy. This technique is one of the most accurate methods of measuring torque and horsepower. It eliminates the need of water cooling and connections to fixed outlets. The model consist of the basic dynamometer with the couplers and mounting platform. The mounting platform is mahogany finished wood and made such that it extra length permits the mounting of the engine. External cooling is required. Any shop air supply or small compressor of 60 1/1 with 2.8 Kg/cm2 is sufficient. A 12volt automotive battery source is adequate to power both the engine and the dynamometer. However, a battery charger of 10 A rating can be used as a power source. Also included with this package is a laboratory and owners manual.
