Two Shaft Gas Turbine Study Unit
The Two Shaft Gas Turbine Study Unit consists of a wheeled frame made of steel, of a panel with mimic diagram carrying the measurement instruments and of a base where the main components are installed, that is the combustion chamber, the turbocharger assembly, the power turbine and the alternator. The exhaust gases produced by the combustion of the compressed air/gas mixture are made to expand first through the turbine of the turbocharger assembly in order to supply the energy necessary to compress the air and then through the power turbine coupled to the alternator through a toothed belt. The electric energy generated by the alternator is dissipated on a resistive load.
