Input andoutput camshaft are adjusted via vane-type camshaft adjuster.
Injectionnozzle and spark plugs are screwed in, chanels have been milled open.
The hydraulicvalve tappets are easy to see. In an external rotor, an internal rotor isrotated in a clockwise (early) or anti-clockwise (late) direction by oilpressure.
The internalrotor is kept in its rest position by springs. The oil channels in the shaftand in the rotor are easily recognisable. The solenoid coil for the control-early or late- has also been cutaway.
